7.3 magnitude earthquake strikes off Banda Sea in eastern Indonesia

An earthquake measuring 7.3 magnitude hit the Banda Sea in the eastern part of Indonesia on Thursday with minor damages reported, according to the country's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

The BMKG said that two houses collapsed and some other minor damages were reported in Southwest Maluku, but the quake triggered no tsunami.

Scientists say it is extremely challenging to try and predict when a supervolcano might erupt again due to the sheer diversity of events that have gone before.

In a study published today in Nature Reviews Earth and Environment, the authors summarize what we know so far about supervolcanoes, concluding that there is not a single model which can describe how these catastrophic events play out, making it extremely difficult to determine how supervolcanoes may erupt in the future.

Supervolcanoes are defined as a volcano that has had at least one explosion of magnitude 8, the highest ranking on the Volcanic Explosivity Index, or VEI, meaning it has released more than 1000 cubic-kilometers of material during an eruption. The most powerful eruption in modern times was the VEI 7 eruption of the Tambora about 200 years ago. Read more

أصل كل كلمة تجدها عربية وتبدأ بالسكون صحيح هي خاضعة لسرعة التلفظ بها كما جاء في الشرح لكلمة (( ديالي )) فهي من((ذا لي)) تدريجيا ولسرعة النطق حولت ل

أما عن كلمة بزاف فشرحها عندي

بزَّافْ = كثير (من أصل كلمة زأف مثال قولنا "أزأف فلان بطنه= أثقله فلم يقدر أن يتحرك )

في شمال المغرب يقال للجزر الجعدة عوض خزّو المستعملة في الجنوب أو زرودية المستعملة في شرق المغرب أو سنارية المستعملة في تونس

أما الجَعْدَةْ فهي نوع من الحشيشة أو الأعشاب الجبلية مثل الشيح

كثيراً من الألفاظ المولدة و المحدثة ذات الأصل العربي الصرف ، و الذي لا ينتبه إليه من ينتقد اللهجة من المشارقة ، مثل :

بزّاف : التي للتكثير ، أصلها : بجُزاف ، مع تسكين الجيم صارت : بجْزاف ، و بهذه الصورة وردت في نص باللهجة الصعيدية لابن سودون المصري المتوفى سنة 868ه ، ثم أدغم المغاربة الجيم في الزاي فصارت : بزّاف ، و أختها في مصر إلى الآن
